In addition to being Dallas/Fort Worth's first open riichi tournament, this is a qualifying event for the 2017 World Riichi Championship being held in October at The Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. The top player from the Dallas tournament will qualify for an invitation to the WRC invitational!
